The Government of the Province of Córdoba announced the construction of a new hospital in Villa Carlos Paz, a key project to strengthen the healthcare system in one of the countrys most important tourist destinations. The project seeks to significantly improve medical care for both permanent residents and the thousands of tourists who visit the town each year. The new hospital, whose location has not yet been specified, is part of a comprehensive healthcare infrastructure plan that the Province has been promoting in various locations throughout the region. The new health center is expected to incorporate highly complex equipment and areas for emergency care, general and specialized consultations, in addition to strengthening the hospital referral network in the region. Along with this project, the repaving of Cárcano Avenue, one of the citys main arteries, is also confirmed. In parallel, a comprehensive renovation of the aqueduct that crosses the avenue will be carried out, with the aim of expanding its capacity and improving the drinking water supply in an area of ??significant urban and tourist growth. Another significant project announced was the redevelopment of the Uruguay Bridge, an architectural and cultural icon of Villa Carlos Paz. To this end, the Province will allocate a $100 million investment to enhance its potential as an art gallery and exhibition space. This project will be carried out in coordination with the citys Chamber of Tourism and the Córdoba Tourism Agency, reinforcing the bridges multifunctional nature. Its worth remembering that the Uruguay Bridge, built in 1945, was restored in 2010 and currently has four vehicle lanes. Furthermore, since December 2024, its exhibition gallery has been managed by the Chamber of Tourism, following a 10-year lease agreement aimed at promoting its cultural and tourist use. As part of these announcements, it is also confirmed that the Province will launch a national and international promotional campaign to strengthen student tourism in Carlos Paz, a strategic segment for the local economy. The actions will be aimed at positioning the town as a safe, modern destination with enhanced services, thanks to new public investments. |
