This is what the National Electric Energy Commission has established in a resolution. The project, located in the department of Escuintla, must be operational by September 30, 2027. The Guatemalan National Electric Energy Commission (CNEE) has approved, through resolution CNEE-106-205, the request submitted by Tierra del Sol for authorization to access the transmission capacity of the 75 MW Tierra del Sol photovoltaic project, located in the municipalities of Masagua and Guanagazapa, in the department of Escuintla. This project was awarded in August 2023, within the framework of the public tender for the supply of electricity for 15 years called by the CNEE . The resolution states that the project consists, among other elements, of 168,168 solar panels with a power range of 560-590 W each, and 240 inverters of 330 kW and an output voltage of 0.8 kV. Also, the connection to the National Interconnected System (SIN) will be at the Jaguar Energy Substation. The authorization is based on the Environmental Impact Assessment Study approved by the Environmental Management and Natural Resources Directorate of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN). The request for authorization by the Wholesale Market Administrator (AMM), the Central American Energy Transport Company (TRECSA), and the National Electrification Institute (INDE) in its capacity as owner of the INDE Electric Energy Transport and Control Company (ETCEE) is also considered non-objection. The resolution specifies that the authorization will expire if the project has not entered into operation by September 30, 2027. |
