The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) has awarded Miahona Company a contract worth SAR 1 billion (US$ 266.55 million) to develop an industrial wastewater treatment plant in Jeddah’s 1st Industrial City. The project will involve the rehabilitation, development, construction, operation, and maintenance of wastewater treatment systems. The scope of the agreement also includes capital investment, land utilization, service delivery, and revenue generation through the sale of treated water. The project will be carried out under a 25-year rehabilitation, operation, and transfer (ROT) model. The Project scope includes: Rehabilitating, upgrading, constructing, operating, maintaining, and managing the project systems during the contract period. Invest in the necessary assets/resources for the project system in terms of capital expenditure (CAPEX) according to the Rehabilitation, Development, Construction, Operation, and Maintenance (ROT) model. Utilize the site and agreed-upon land based on the concession agreement. Ensure the continuity and reliability of providing public services related to wastewater and industrial water treatment. Treat raw wastewater and industrial effluent according to the Service Agreement (SA). Market and sell treated water for industrial purposes by the SA. Provide maintenance for external networks and lift stations. Undertake all procedures related to any of the above-mentioned activities. Collect service fees. |
