Improvement work continues on Provincial Route No. 4, one of the strategic thoroughfares in the Greater Buenos Aires area. The work is currently underway in the La Matanza district, on a 4.3-kilometer stretch between National Route No. 3 and Don Bosco Avenue. The main objective is to optimize vehicular traffic and strengthen safety conditions in an area with high daily traffic. The project is being carried out by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services of the Province of Buenos Aires, through the Directorate of Roads. The work includes the complete reconstruction of the center roadway and collector roads, with a focus on improving pavement durability and facilitating vehicular traffic flow. In addition to repaving, the plan includes the construction of new storm drains to improve water runoff, the installation of high-efficiency LED lighting, the retrofitting of the traffic light system, and the addition of designated public transportation lanes. The reconstruction of curbs on the outer lanes will also be carried out, a key measure to enhance pedestrian and vehicle safety. In parallel, similar projects are being carried out in the San Martín district, along a 1,750-meter stretch. In that case, complete paving, lane reconfiguration, and improvements to the public lighting system will also be carried out. Both projects are aimed at strengthening the provinces road infrastructure and improving connectivity between the various urban neighborhoods. It should be noted that this road carries an average daily traffic of approximately 40,000 vehicles, including private vehicles, freight transport, and bus lines. Due to its strategic importance, the project is part of a comprehensive road infrastructure plan that seeks to modernize key routes in the Buenos Aires province, promoting territorial integration and improving the quality of life for its residents. |
