The Caviahue-Copahue road paving project is moving forward: two bids have been submitted for a key project for Neuquén tourism. The bidding process for a key project in road connectivity in the Neuquén mountain range region was opened: the paving of a six-kilometer stretch of Provincial Route 26, between Caviahue and the junction with Provincial Route 27, leading to the hot springs of Copahue. This corridor is essential for consolidating tourism development and improving year-round access. The opening took place at the headquarters of the Provincial Highway Department in the city of Zapala, and was attended by provincial and local authorities. The project includes the complete paving of the section, including the adaptation of the roadways structural base, earthworks, construction of shoulders, drainage works, and road signage. This intervention aims to ensure safe and efficient traffic conditions on a route that currently suffers from seasonal complications, especially in winter due to snow and mud accumulation. The improvement of this road not only aims to strengthen tourism in one of the countrys most important thermal centers, but also to facilitate the transit of local residents and suppliers, benefiting the regional economy. The project is expected to have a significant impact on connectivity between the towns of Caviahue and Copahue, areas of significant scenic and thermal value. The projects execution is part of a strategic road infrastructure plan promoted by the provincial government, which includes paving key corridors for territorial development. The tendered section is part of the northern Neuquén tourist circuit, known for its mountainous terrain and natural beauty. Once awarded, construction is expected to begin in the coming months, depending on the regions weather conditions. This is an investment with a significant territorial impact, aimed at consolidating safer and more efficient access to two iconic tourist destinations in Neuquén.
