Work Detail A high-end real estate development located in a protected wetland area in Villa Paranacito was intervened by provincial authorities who found that construction work was being carried out without the necessary permits. The project, known as Barrio Islas Victoria, involves the construction of a riverine estate with navigable canals, moorings, and amenities, and is located on a sensitive area of ??the Entre Ríos delta. During an inspection conducted on Friday, April 4, by personnel from the Entre Ríos Department of the Environment, they verified alterations to the terrain, the opening of canals with depths between 0.70 and 2.5 meters, and the construction of access roads on embankments, a bridge, and an artificial lake. According to the workers, the work has been underway for two years, without any environmental approval process having been initiated with the provincial authorities. The property is located at kilometer 114 of National Route 12, in the jurisdiction of Villa Paranacito, within the Islas del Ibicuy department. The area is included in the Birds and Their Free Peoples Reserve, a wetland area protected by Provincial Law No. 9,718, which establishes strict regulations on interventions in these fragile ecosystems. During the operation, the landowner appeared before the inspectors and claimed to have a permit issued by the Municipality of Villa Paranacito. However, he was unable to provide documentation proving this authorization, so a violation report was issued and he was ordered to immediately suspend the work until he rectified his situation. The development is being promoted by Sygsa, a company belonging to the Pose SA Group, which recently launched lot sales starting at $50,000, promoting the project as an exclusive nautical neighborhood with direct access to the Paraná Guazú. The news of the sale sparked concern among environmental organizations, given the developments location in a key ecosystem in the Paraná Delta. To move forward with the project, the owner of the development must submit the required documentation, including the environmental impact study, whose approval by the Province is essential before requesting any type of municipal permit. The case is reminiscent of other controversial cases in the region, such as the Amarras country club in Pueblo General Belgrano, and rekindles the debate over the limits of real estate development in wetland areas.
