As part of preparations for the 2026 South American Games, the bidding process for the construction of the Parque Independencia Microstadium in the city of Rosario was opened. The project has an official budget of $9.2 billion and an estimated completion time of 365 days. The new micro-stadium will be located on the grounds of Rosarios Municipal Stadium, at the intersection of Ovidio Lagos and Dante Alighieri Streets. It will be integrated into the existing sports complex, which includes the Municipal Skating Rink and the athletics track, enhancing the regions sports infrastructure. The project includes a covered area of ??3,500 square meters and a total built-up area of ??5,300 square meters. With a total capacity of 2,460 people—2,400 in the stands and 30 in the boxes—the design also includes the installation of additional grandstands, which would increase the capacity to 2,800. In addition, 16 broadcast booths with a capacity for two people each will be added, along with 30 press positions, ensuring optimal conditions for event coverage.
