Work Detail The Emirates Group has announced a strategic partnership with Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, to relocate its data centre to the world’s largest solar-powered data facility at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. The move aligns with the Group’s long-term sustainability and digital transformation goals. The relocation, set to commence in mid-2026, marks a significant shift in the Emirates Group’s technology infrastructure as it prepares for its next phase of growth. Moro Hub will provide comprehensive co-location services, including rack space, power, cooling, equipment supply, and other associated services. The transition will enable the Group to operate entirely on clean energy, with an estimated requirement of 3,000 megawatts annually to power the data centre. The agreement was signed in the presence of Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), by Michael Doersam, Chief Financial & Group Services Officer of the Emirates Group, and Eng. Marwan Bin Haidar, Vice Chairman & Group CEO of Digital DEWA. Al Tayer highlighted the initiative’s alignment with Dubai’s sustainability goals, stating, “Guided by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, we continue to position Dubai as a global leader in sustainable digital innovation, in line with the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050. This partnership strengthens the Emirates Group’s sustainability journey and reinforces Dubai’s leadership in digital transformation and green energy adoption.” Michael Doersam, Chief Financial & Group Services Officer of the Emirates Group, emphasized the significance of the collaboration, stating, “Our partnership with Moro Hub represents a major step in reshaping our technology landscape for the future. By transitioning our digital operations to a solar-powered data centre, we are enhancing operational resilience, scalability, and reducing our environmental footprint. This move reflects our shared vision to position Dubai as a global leader in technology, innovation, and sustainability.” The partnership underscores Dubai’s commitment to advancing digital infrastructure while promoting sustainable economic growth and reinforcing its status as a leader in sustainable aviation and clean energy adoption.
