Hindustan Copper Ltd.’s (HCL) Malanjkhand Copper Project (MCP), the company’s flagship unit, has achieved remarkable milestones in the Financial Year 2024-25, setting new records in ore production, milling, and Metal-in-Concentrate (MIC) output. Annual Performance Highlights: Ore Production: MCP recorded an all-time high annual ore production of 27,25,206 tonnes, surpassing its target at 103%. Notably, this was the highest-ever yearly ore production since the project’s inception, with the entire output sourced from underground mines. Ore Milling: The project processed 24,34,285 tonnes of copper ore, achieving 97% of the annual target. This marks the highest milling output in the last two years. Metal-in-Concentrate (MIC) Production: MCP produced 19,270 tonnes of MIC, achieving 92% of its annual target. This represents the highest MIC production in the last five years. March 2025 Performance Achievements: Ore Production: MCP set a new monthly record with 3,00,363 tonnes of ore production, achieving 133% of the target and marking the highest monthly production since inception. Ore Milling: In March 2025, MCP processed 2,19,035 tonnes of ore, exceeding its target at 104% and recording the highest monthly milling in five years. Metal-in-Concentrate (MIC) Production: MCP produced 1,605 tonnes of MIC in March 2025, achieving 81% of its monthly target. These record-breaking achievements highlight MCP’s operational excellence and reinforce its critical role in HCL’s copper production capacity.
