The North Central Railway, Prayagraj, has issued a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) to the Kernex-KEC Consortium for the implementation of the KAVACH Train Collision Avoidance System. The project also includes the installation of towers and a 4X48 fibre optic cable (OFC) backbone on the Shuteshwar (Incl) - Dholpur (Incl) section of the North Central Railway. The total accepted contract value for this project is ?85.14 crore (inclusive of 18% GST), with a completion timeline of 500 days from the date of LOA issuance. This latest contract further strengthens the expansion of KAVACH deployment across Indias railway network. As of April 2024, the cumulative value of all KAVACH-related contracts awarded has reached ?2,470.25 crore, underscoring the Indian Railways commitment to enhancing rail safety and infrastructure modernization. |
