The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has successfully completed the widening of a section of the Dancalan-Candoni-Damutan Valley Road aimed at improving transportation and facilitating the smoother movement of goods and services in the town of Ilog, Negros Occidental. The project costing P33.7 million expanded a 766-meter stretch of the existing two (2)-lane tertiary road by constructing additional lanes on both sides. Implemented by DPWH Negros Occidental 3rd District Engineering Office, the widened road will now be able to accommodate more vehicles, easing traffic flow and providing a more efficient and comfortable travel experience for road users and public commuters daily. With wider road space and better access to neighboring towns and barangays, local farmers and small business owners will no longer experience delays in transporting their goods and services. Other activities for the project include the provision of pipe culverts, stone masonry, rubble concrete, and reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markings. |
