Work on the new José C. Paz station for the San Martín train has resumed. The Municipality of José C. Paz announced the resumption of the modernization work on the San Martín Line train station, after it was suspended by the national government. The Municipality will complete the project with its own funds and personnel, with the commitment to open it within an estimated five months. The project, which began in 2022 as part of the Rail Transport Modernization Plan, includes raising platforms, constructing new operational buildings, and improving accessibility with entrances and exits from Leandro N. Alem Street. Additionally, landscaping and improvements to the urban environment will be carried out, including the replacement of lighting fixtures. The José C. Paz station is one of the busiest on the San Martín line, with a daily flow of more than 22,000 passengers. The modernization seeks to optimize safety and service quality, benefiting thousands of residents who depend on the train for their daily commutes. The mayor confirmed that the work will be carried out by the Municipal Construction Company, ensuring the projects continuity after the national governments funding cuts. This is a huge effort were making for the residents. Were resuming this project with municipal resources to ensure its completion, the mayor emphasized. At the same time, the neighboring municipality of San Miguel announced that it will also complete a key infrastructure project: the expansion of the adult emergency room at the Dr. Raúl F. Larcade Municipal Hospital. The project, which covers more than 1,000 square meters on three levels, will include new inpatient wards and state-of-the-art medical equipment. |
