India’s L&T Energy Green Tech Limited (LTEGL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Belgium-based John Cockerill to collaborate on Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) and Thermal Energy Storage (TES) technologies, the companies announced today. The partnership aims to explore strategic opportunities in manufacturing, component supply, and engineering solutions for CSP and TES projects. LTEGL, a wholly owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, will leverage its expertise in manufacturing, engineering, procurement, and construction, while John Cockerill will contribute its extensive experience in energy technologies, particularly in solar thermal receivers. “With the growing need for round-the-clock renewable energy, our collaboration will support global energy transition efforts,” said Subramanian Sarma, Whole-time Director & President (Energy) at L&T. Thomas Bohner, CEO of John Cockerill Energy, highlighted the company’s track record in solar thermal receivers, with projects in the UAE, China, Chile, and South Africa. The partnership is expected to play a key role in India’s shift towards sustainable energy and support the country’s net-zero commitments. |
