Work Detail The British company claims that the new building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) modules have a nominal power of 445 W and guarantee 95% energy efficiency after 10 years. Viridian Solar, a UK-based manufacturer of building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) panels, has announced a new 445W n-type TOPCon module. The new panel uses the latest in solar cell technology to achieve this higher specific power density, with n-type TOPCon cells encapsulated between two sheets of glass, front and back, the company said. The switch to glass panels improves the panels lifespan by better protecting the cells from oxidation and mechanical stress. The 54-cell PV16-445AG-M10 module measures 1,885 mm x 1,134 x 70 mm and weighs 28.3 kg. It features a power conversion efficiency of 23.6% and a temperature coefficient of -0.29%/°C. Its open-circuit voltage is 39.90 V, and its short-circuit current is 14.18 A. The new product is compatible with the companys M10 cover kits and has a 15-year warranty, with a guaranteed power output of 95% of original performance at 10 years and 87% at 30 years. “The non-combustible glass on the back of the new panel, which replaces the polymer backsheet, further reduces the risk of fire,” adds Viridian. “The 445AG is now certified to the highest fire resistance rating (BRoof) for both Test 1 (Germany and Benelux) and Test 4 (for the UK) and is listed with MCS005 and MCS012 certificates.”
