Work Detail The Chinese manufacturer said its Battery-Box HVE is now sold with a single-phase hybrid inverter or a three-phase device. The system is available in two versions with capacities of 4.29 kWh and 6.45 kWh. BYD Energy Storage, a unit of Chinese conglomerate BYD, has launched what it claims to be its first integrated storage system for residential applications. The Battery-Box HVE system is sold in combination with a single-phase hybrid inverter or a three-phase device. The storage system is available in two versions with capacities of 4.29 kWh and 6.45 kWh. The smaller model measures 345 mm x 660 mm x 140 mm and weighs 42.1 kg, while the larger system measures 499 mm x 660 mm x 140 mm and weighs 61.1 kg. Thanks to the innovative design of the Battery-Box HVE, these two types of modules can be combined in a single tower, the manufacturer states in a statement. The smallest possible system configuration starts at 6.4 kWh. With up to four modules in a tower, a maximum capacity of 23.6 kWh can be achieved in a single-tower configuration. Up to three of these towers can be connected in parallel, allowing for a total capacity of 70.92 kWh when three towers are connected in parallel. As for IP66-rated inverters, the single-phase device is called Power-Box SH and has a power output of 3 kW to 6 kW, with a charge and discharge current of 35 A. It supposedly has a maximum output power of 200% and a maximum efficiency of 97.7%. The three-phase inverter is called the Power-Box TH and has an output power of 5 kW to 15 kW, with a maximum efficiency reaching 98.2%. It is highly reliable and can also provide full backup functionality with a maximum output power of 150% and a backup switching time of less than 10 ms, the manufacturer claims. New products have a 15-year warranty. The new BYD Battery-Box HVE solution combination will be available throughout Europe starting at the end of June, BYD stated. An additional new product for the European market will be introduced in the second quarter of 2025.
