The Provincial Water Department (DPA) conducted the bidding process for Private Tender 03/25, for the modernization of the irrigation system on Choele Choel Island. The project includes lining secondary canal VI at kilometer 1,200, with the goal of improving water distribution efficiency and reducing seepage losses. The works will be carried out near Lamarque and include the reconstruction and extension of the lining in a strategic section of the canal. This intervention will optimize the availability of water resources for local producers, promoting agricultural development in the region. Modernizing the irrigation system is key to ensuring greater agricultural productivity in the Middle Valley, a key area for fruit and vegetable production in the province of Río Negro. The official budget for the project is $51,388,097.84 (VAT included), representing a significant investment in water infrastructure for the rural sector.
