Work Detail The province of Santa Fe is preparing to host the 2026 South American Sports Organization (Odesur) Games, which will take place from September 12 to 26. With the participation of Olympic committees from across the region, the event will represent a boost for the sports and urban infrastructure of Rosario, Santa Fe, and Rafaela. To this end, the provincial government will allocate $90 million for sports, housing, and urban development projects. The improvements will include the construction of three sports villages with capacity for 4,000 people in Rosario, 1,100 in Santa Fe, and 400 in Rafaela. In addition, major improvements will be made to sports venues in each city, ensuring adequate spaces for competitions and leaving an infrastructure legacy for the Santa Fe community. The main planned projects are detailed below. Works in Rosario Provincial Athletic Club Aquatic Center : The existing pool will be adapted to meet international standards, expanding its width to 10 lanes and renovating the overflow system. A second pool will also be built for diving, artistic swimming, and water polo. Paseo 21 Cover : A shade roof-type structure will be built in the southwest sector of Parque Independencia, to house urban sports such as 3x3 basketball. Gimnasia y Esgrima Club Training Center : The existing pool will be upgraded with air conditioning and improvements to the sports lighting. Works in Santa Fe CARD Athletics Track : The track surface will be renovated, along with improvements to the throwing areas, drainage, lighting, and changing rooms. A new side grandstand will be built. CARD Microstadium : A covered microstadium with capacity for 3,500 spectators will be built, designed to host various indoor sports disciplines. Shooting Range : This will be built on the grounds of the former General Belgrano High School, in the town of Recreo. It will have spaces for various sport shooting and will later be used by the Provincial Public Safety Institute. Works in Rafaela Microstadium : A multipurpose covered microstadium with a capacity of 3,000 spectators is planned. Its design will accommodate various disciplines, including figure skating. Skate park and BMX track : A 350-meter BMX track with jumps of various levels will be built, as well as a skate park with an obstacle course. Both spaces will have changing rooms, restrooms, and other support facilities. These works will not only guarantee the success of the 2026 Odesur Games, but will also provide a modern and functional sports infrastructure for the development of sports in the province.
