Work Detail |
Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) recently launched a drive in Tilak Nagar to remove obstacles and expedite the construction of a masterplan road. The initiative follows a court order, under which the boundary wall of a private school was demolished to free up land for the project. IMC member Rajesh Udawat confirmed that four additional plots have been acquired to build the road, which will connect Tilak Nagar to Ring Road. This new stretch will ease traffic congestion on Kanadia Road and benefit commuters from multiple colonies, he said. The planned road, approximately 750 meters long, will eliminate the need for residents to take a detour via Mahaveer Nagar to reach Ring Road. Additionally, IMC has proposed an extended route from Tilak Nagar and Badi Gwaltoli to further improve connectivity. A work order worth ?2.5 crore has been issued for the construction, which includes laying a concrete road, installing a stormwater drainage system, constructing footpaths, and relocating electric poles. Officials emphasized that the new road will serve as an alternative to the heavily congested Anand Bazaar Road and LIG Link Road, easing traffic between Ring Road and AB Road. |
