Orygen, the Actis company that acquired Enel Generación Perú, has a portfolio of 12.2 GW of wind, solar, and hybrid projects in Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Cajamarca, Ica, Moquegua, and Arequipa. Orygen, formerly Enel Generación Perú, now majority-owned by the global investment fund Actis, recently received the definitive concession for the transmission of electrical energy in the “33 kV Transmission Line SE Flamenco – CUS Central Solar Fotovoltaica CERW Wayra Solar” project, located in the district of Marcona, province of Nazca, department of Ica. The future Wayra Solar solar plant will be made up of 171,912 photovoltaic modules, will have a nominal capacity of 94.22 MW, will be connected to the Poroma 220 kV substation, the Flamenco 220 kV substation, and the Barras 33 kV substation. It will begin commercial operation in 2025, according to a compendium of non-conventional renewable generation plant projects by Osinergmin. Last summer, Orygen began commercial operation of Wayra Wxtensión, the largest wind farm in the country, with a capacity of 310 MW. Orygen has a 12.2 GW portfolio of wind, solar, and hybrid projects in Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Cajamarca, Ica, Moquegua, and Arequipa. Last year, the company unveiled a plan to invest $1 billion over the next five years to advance projects that are in very advanced development and nearly ready for construction. By early 2025, the company planned to build two renewable energy plants in the north and south of the country and aimed to install around 900 MW over the next five years. |
