Work Detail GoldenPeaks Capital, a leading European investor in renewable energy, has signed a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NGK Ceramics Polska. This agreement will significantly reduce NGK’s carbon footprint in Poland by virtually supplying approximately 125 GWh of clean, renewable electricity each year. The energy will come from GoldenPeaks Capital’s solar power plants in Poland, the same country where NGK Ceramics Polska operates. The annual energy supply under this PPA is equivalent to powering around 60,000 homes. NGK Ceramics Polska has been present in Poland since 2003 and is a global manufacturer of ceramic components used in the automotive industry. The company specializes in producing diesel particulate filters (DPF) and other filtration systems that help reduce harmful emissions from vehicle exhaust gases, contributing to cleaner air and environmental protection. These technologies play a crucial role in limiting pollution from both diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles. Minoru Shibata, president of NGK Ceramics Polska, said in a statement, “In the current challenging times, VPPAs are one of the measures allowing better control over the company budget and also significantly help to achieve the long-term demanding goals of carbon neutrality. All companies, regardless of their size, should make necessary efforts to improve the environment and contribute to a better life for every person, now and in the future. Adriano Agosti, founder and chairman of GoldenPeaks Capital, mentioned “We are proud to contribute to the green footprint of NGK Ceramics Polska as a strong international leader in its field. The PPA will empower the company to enhance their share of renewable energy across their operations, contributing to its long-term environmental ambitions.” This long-term PPA reflects NGK Ceramics Polska’s commitment to sustainability and innovation. By sourcing renewable energy, the company is reinforcing its dedication to environmental best practices. Over the course of the agreement, the transition to solar power is expected to prevent approximately 938,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions. The energy production and supply are set to begin in the coming year, marking an important step toward a greener and more sustainable future.
