Spanish electric utility company Iberdrola has signed a solar power purchase agreement (PPA) with Italian retail group Pam Panorama. The company has now signed 15 agreements across Europe. Starting in January 2026, the 10-year PPA will supply renewable energy to Pam, Panorama, Pam Local, and Pam City stores across Italy. By the end of 2025, Iberdrola expects to have around 400MW of installed capacity in Italy, following the launch of its third operational plant and the completion of four additional solar projects. “We are proud to support partners like Pam Panorama in choosing energy solutions oriented towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future,” said Lorenzo Costantini, Commercial Director of Iberdrola Italia. He added that the agreement aligns with Iberdrola’s strategy of prioritising renewable energy for industrial partners by offering “flexible and advantageous solutions.” Alessandro Riolfo, Technical Director of Pam Panorama, described the deal as “a concrete step in Pam Panorama’s sustainability journey.” He described the company’s focus on reducing its environmental impact through “strategic choices that combine innovation, efficiency, and responsibility.” “Thanks to this collaboration, we will also be able to power our stores with renewable energy, contributing significantly to the decarbonisation of the large-scale retail sector,” he said. “We are convinced that investing in sustainable solutions is not only a duty to the environment, but also a value for our customers and for the communities in which we operate.” |
