Work Detail Energy Queensland, the government-owned utility providing electricity to over 3 million customers in Queensland, Australia, has partnered with ACCURE Battery Intelligence to enhance the safety, performance, and reliability of two battery energy storage systems (BESS) located in Mundubbera and Torquay. Each of these systems has a capacity of 4 MW/8 MWh and is part of Queensland’s broader initiative to transition toward a renewable energy future. The Mundubbera and Torquay BESS installations are components of a larger 200 MW/400 MWh network deployed across regions with high solar energy penetration. These systems are designed to absorb excess solar power generation and provide stability to the grid during peak demand periods. As Queensland works toward its renewable energy targets—70% by 2032, 80% by 2035, and net zero emissions by 2050—effective energy storage solutions play a crucial role in supporting this transition. ACCURE will deploy its predictive battery analytics technology to continuously monitor both BESS sites, identifying potential equipment failures or operational inefficiencies before they impact system performance. The technology will provide real-time insights, enabling operators to take proactive measures to address issues and optimize efficiency. By recommending corrective actions and tracking performance improvements, ACCURE will help ensure the battery systems operate at peak capacity. In addition to performance monitoring, ACCURE will implement its Warranty Tracker™ to maintain optimal battery conditions and prevent premature degradation. This includes ensuring that key parameters, such as temperature, remain within the required range to avoid overheating. The Warranty Tracker™ also provides detailed documentation, offering an independent third-party perspective that can assist asset owners in processing warranty claims and ensuring compliance with manufacturer requirements. Glenn Dahlenburg, Battery Project Manager at Energy Queensland, said in a statement, “Energy Queensland is working with ACCURE to deploy its AI-based predictive analytics technology to help us operate our energy storage systems in the safest and most productive way and benefit our community and our customers. As a region with one of the highest number of rooftop solar customers per capita in the world, energy storage is a big part of our plan to support our network and the implementation of renewables. We value all new technologies that help make our clean energy resources safer, more efficient and more reliable.” Kai-Philipp Kairies, CEO and Co-founder of ACCURE, “We are excited to share our battery safety and performance technology with Energy Queensland as they build out their energy storage network to better utilize their solar resources and support the grid. Batteries are complex, and our job is to simplify that complexity and provide Energy Queensland with action-focused insights backed by data.” ACCURE’s AI-driven analytics platform combines machine learning and advanced modeling to detect and address irregular battery behavior, helping to prevent unexpected failures and costly repairs. Beyond monitoring battery health, ACCURE will introduce a new inverter analytics feature at the Mundubbera and Torquay sites. This solution will track the performance of each site’s Power Conversion System (PCS) to detect and prevent inverter failures, a common challenge affecting energy storage system reliability. By leveraging ACCURE’s advanced battery intelligence solutions, Energy Queensland aims to improve the longevity and efficiency of its battery storage assets. This partnership supports Queensland’s commitment to a cleaner, more sustainable energy grid by ensuring that battery storage systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably as the state continues its transition to renewable energy.
