Equinor and Polenergia have contracted Van Oord to carry out seabed protection work for the Baltyk 2 and Baltyk 3 offshore wind farms. The contract covers the procurement, transport, and installation of stone surcharges to safeguard cables and foundations. The two companies are developing three offshore wind projects in the Baltic Sea with a total capacity of up to 3 GW. The first phase includes Baltyk 2 and Baltyk 3, which will consist of 100 turbines, each with a capacity of 14.4 MW. The projects are scheduled to deliver their first electricity to the grid in 2027, with full commercial operations beginning in 2028. |
