The General Directorate of Physical Resources in Health has developed the documentation for the tender of the work “Casa de Medio Camino Ruy Díaz de Guzmán”, in response to a medical program promoted by the Mental Health Directorate. This project seeks to provide a containment space for children and adolescents with mental illnesses in a stable period, who have been discharged from hospitalization but require support in their rehabilitation and social reintegration process. The new residence will be located at 171/172 Ruy Díaz de Guzmán Street, in the Barracas neighborhood, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, on a site currently occupied by an unused warehouse that will be demolished. The construction will include a building between party walls with a ground floor and two floors, with a central courtyard to optimize the natural lighting and ventilation of the common areas and rooms. The vertical circulations and service areas will be attached to one of the party walls. Access to the building will be structured through a gated entrance for pedestrian access and parking, ensuring the continuity of the facade line and respecting the urban identity of the neighborhood. The total surface area of ??the work will be 707.95 m² covered, 15.75 m² semi-covered and 203.17 m² uncovered. The social and staff areas will be located on the ground floor, while the upper floors will be used for rest and privacy spaces, with capacity to accommodate 16 patients and 2 supervisory operators. Distribution of spaces: Ground Floor: Entrance hall, administration, office with medicine storage, interview area, staff room, kitchen, laundry room, living-dining room and toilets for staff and patients. It will also include an electrical panel room, a pumping tank room, an internal patio and a rear patio with a vegetable garden and recreation area. First Floor: Four bedrooms, a patient lounge, operators rest room with toilet, storage room, patient toilets (including one adapted), storage area, rack room and electrical panel room. Second Floor: Four additional bedrooms, a patient lounge, operators rest room with toilet, patient toilets (including one adapted), storage area, water heater room, and electrical panel room. Accessible Roof: It will house the elevator machine room, water reserve tank area and air conditioning equipment. This project represents a significant advance in the infrastructure for mental health in the City of Buenos Aires, offering a safe and adequate environment for the rehabilitation of young people in their process of social reintegration.
