The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is making significant strides towards completing a road concreting project aimed at improving road safety and help decongest traffic flow at existing road networks in Tagum City, Davao del Norte. DPWH Regional Office XI Director Juby B. Cordon, in a report to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, said that the 754.6-lineal meter road project, which includes a 2,254.9-lineal meter drainage system in Barangay Mankilam, Tagum City will significantly enhance transportation access leading to the city center, ensuring road safety to daily commuters and motorist traversing the area. “This road project, now 65% completed, essentially complements the Tagum City Diversion Road that serves as a vital road link facilitating agri trading and major economic activities in the city corridors, added Director Cordon. Part of the “Build Better More” program of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., the initiative aims to strengthen local road networks, which play a vital role in driving economic growth and regional development. The Davao del Norte District Engineering Office is implementing the road project with a P49.50 million budget allocation under the 2024 Basic Infrastructure Program and targeted for completion before the end of 2025. |
