The Bell Ville Municipality will allocate $49,472,000 to carry out a hydrological and hydraulic study that will allow planning stormwater drainage works throughout the urban area. The investment, financed with municipal funds, seeks to improve the infrastructure in response to the increase in rainfall linked to climate change. The study, commissioned by a specialized consultancy, will include an analysis of current rainfall, a survey of existing canals, drains and sewers, as well as an assessment of watersheds. Its main objective is to determine whether the current drainage system is sufficient or requires modifications to optimize water runoff. The survey of areas not yet developed will also be considered in order to plan for future drainage works in residential neighbourhoods, industrial and commercial areas. This will allow for orderly planning of urban growth, ensuring proper management of rainwater. The project will include the design of curbs and gutters for the main corridors stipulated in Ordinance No. 2673/2024, as well as for the new Puertas del Sol municipal subdivision, located on Avenida Ituzaingó and Calle Brasil. In addition, the consolidation of the open-air main channel on the Eastern Beltway is planned, covering Bulevar Unión, Ombú, Ituzaingó and Perito Moreno. The study will include several stages, including preliminary work, complementary studies and the preparation of executive projects. The basins and sub-basins will be defined, new drainage systems will be designed where necessary and the levelling of the main arteries will be determined to ensure adequate drainage. With a six-month implementation period, this initiative joins other previous water planning projects, such as the water and sewage master plan, thus consolidating a comprehensive strategy to improve the urban infrastructure of Bell Ville. |
