The national government, through the National Highway Department, continues with the work to double the roadway on National Route 3, between San Miguel del Monte and Gorchs. This 26-kilometer stretch will include five interchanges, five bridges, wider lanes and external and internal shoulders, with the aim of improving road safety and speeding up traffic on one of the countrys main arteries. The works aim to optimize the circulation of the 5,800 vehicles that pass through the area every day and improve the transport of agricultural and industrial products. National Route 3 is key to the connectivity of the south of the province of Buenos Aires and essential for the distribution of products such as cereals, meat and livestock, as well as the cement exploitation in Olavarría. Currently, work is underway on the construction of the distributor bridge at the access to Videla Dorna, located at kilometre 119.5. For this structure, prestressed beams are being manufactured, the assembly of which is planned between May and June 2025. At the Videla Dorna return distributor (km 125), the beams and pre-slabs have already been assembled, and progress is being made on the construction of the bridge deck. Abutments and piers are also being built at the Santa Rosa (km 130) and Cerrillos (km 134) return distributors. As for the bridges that cross waterways, work is being carried out on Spillways II (km 138) and III (km 139.5), with beams in the manufacturing process and an estimated assembly for March. The structures over the California stream (km 115), the Salado River on its downstream side (km 136) and Spillway I (km 137) have already completed their civil work. The project represents a significant transformation in the infrastructure of National Route 3, favoring not only road safety, but also the competitiveness of freight transport. With these improvements, greater efficiency is expected in the circulation of goods and people, strengthening regional production and trade. |
