An annual energy generation of 24,660 MWh is projected. The total investment in the project was approximately 35 thousand dollars, implemented under the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) model. The estimated payback period is 2 to 3 years, which demonstrates the economic viability of this type of solar projects in the industrial sector. Construction of the system took about 10 days, a relatively short time due to the limited number of panels installed. One point that Orange highlights is that during the execution of the project, it had to face the challenge posed by the need to relocate the concrete blocks and the structures mounted on them. “This involved a modification in the engineering of the project, which in turn required updating the plans to reflect the changes and ensure the correct execution of the work,” the company says. In addition, critical factors such as the inclination and orientation of the panels, as well as the type of structure, were considered in the design of the system, adapting them to the specific location of the project. Also, given the proximity to the sea, “the impact of salinity on the materials was evaluated to ensure their durability.” |
