Work Detail Ecoener receives a US$43.1 million loan from Proparco to finance its photovoltaic plant in the Caribbean country, where it has five solar installations totaling 280 MW in operation or under construction. Ecoener, a Spanish company focused on the development of renewable energies, has received a loan of 43.1 million dollars (41 million euros) from Proparco, the subsidiary of the Agence Française de Développement Group (AFD Group), to finance its Payita 1 photovoltaic plant in the Dominican Republic. Payita 1, located in the province of María Trinidad Sánchez, in the north of the country, with an installed capacity of 60 MW, ensures revenues of 142 million dollars in the next 15 years thanks to the PPA (long-term power sales agreement) signed with Edenorte, one of the main energy marketing and distribution companies in the Dominican Republic. The project received its definitive concession in May 2024 . The Dominican Republic is on track to become Ecoeners first market with the entry into operation of three photovoltaic solar plants, Payita 1 and 2 and Cumayasa 4, this year, which will be added to the two already in operation since September 2023 : Cumayasa 1 and 2, of 97 MW, on which it has signed a PPA with the Empresa Distribuidora de Electricidad del Este . In total, the facilities will add up to around 280 MW of installed capacity.
