Subterráneos de Buenos Aires (SBASE) pre-awarded the tender to Lo Bruno Estructuras for the renovation of the Carlos Gardel station on Line B of the subway, located at the intersection of Corrientes and Agüero, in the Abasto area. The contract also includes the renovation of the Uruguay station, located in the San Nicolás neighborhood. The public tender for these renovations was announced in October 2024, within the framework of a comprehensive plan to restore Buenos Aires subway stations. Originally, the project had been put out to tender in November 2022, but was cancelled in November 2023 due to the change of authorities. The works are part of a program to modernize the subway infrastructure. Recently, work was carried out at the Pasteur-AMIA station in Balvanera and renovations are being carried out at Pueyrredón (Line B) and Loria (Line A), located between the neighborhoods of Balvanera and Almagro. The work at Carlos Gardel and Uruguay stations includes improvements in accessibility, lighting, structural refurbishment and modernization of common spaces to optimize the user experience and extend the useful life of the stations.
