The Government of Santa Fe has launched the national and international tender for the construction of the multipurpose stadium in the Malvinas Argentinas neighborhood of Rafaela, within the framework of the 2026 Odesur Games. The opening of envelopes will take place on March 11 and the execution period of the work will be 420 days, allowing it to be completed before the sporting event. The project includes a covered area of ??7,566 m² and a total capacity of 3,080 people, with 2,960 seats in the stands and 120 in the boxes. In addition, it will have 71 positions for the press, including desks and broadcast booths. The official budget amounts to $7,711,323,052.15. The stadium will include a main playing field measuring 51.70 x 32.90 metres, adaptable for various indoor Olympic disciplines such as basketball, volleyball, handball, figure skating, boxing, wrestling, tennis, fencing, gymnastics and weightlifting. It can also be used as an auditorium and for cultural or gastronomic events. The facilities will include changing rooms, doping rooms, medical offices and technical areas approved for official competitions. Located on a 2-hectare site within the Youth District, the building is made up of two distinct volumes: a base with a transparent structure and an upper volume covered in perforated sheet metal. The design prioritizes universal accessibility, efficient circulation and differentiated sectors for the public, press, authorities and sports delegations. The project also includes landscaped outdoor spaces and safe access, with entrance esplanades, loading and unloading areas, and strategically distributed emergency exits. The combination of wet and dry construction will optimize construction and guarantee structural efficiency. The stadium is expected to become an architectural and functional reference point for the region, promoting sports, cultural and tourist activities.
