Work Detail Morgan Stanley has acquired a 1.5% stake in Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy (SWREL) for approximately ?103 crore through an open market transaction. The US-based investment banking firm, via its affiliate Morgan Stanley Asia Singapore, purchased 36.44 lakh shares, representing a 1.56% stake in the Mumbai-based solar EPC company, according to bulk deal data from the NSE. The shares were bought at an average price of ?282.20 per share, bringing the total transaction value to ?102.84 crore. At the same time, Goldman Sachs divested a portion of its holdings in SWREL. Through its investment arm, Goldman Sachs Funds – Goldman Sachs India Equity Portfolio, the firm sold 34.27 lakh shares, equivalent to a 1.47% stake, for nearly ?97 crore. The shares were sold at an average price of ?282.46 per share, amounting to a total deal size of ?96.82 crore, as per NSE data. Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy, backed by Reliance New Energy and the Shapoorji Pallonji Group, is a key player in India’s solar EPC sector.
