Work Detail |
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently completed a flood control structure in Tubigon, Bohol, to prevent flooding caused by the overflow of the Bateria River. “The 368.8-meter flood control structure completed in the low-lying area of Sitio Ingod in Barangay Centro now safeguards adjacent areas, including agricultural lands,” said DPWH Region 7 Director Danilo J. Villa, Jr. in his update to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan. The flood control project covers slope stabilization features to control erosion and strengthen the flood wall along the riverbank and a 3-meter roadway to improve access for local fishermen and farmers in the area. Located next to the old Bateria Bridge, the slope protection structure consists of two sections: upstream and downstream and now benefits both the agriculture and fisheries sectors of Tubigon town. The project, costing P68.87-million, funded under the 2024 General Appropriations Act was implemented by DPWH Bohol 1st District Engineering Office. |
