The municipality of General Rodríguez is moving forward with the construction and expansion of school infrastructure to meet the growing educational demand in the region. In this framework, work is being carried out at Primary School No. 24 in Parque Joly and at Secondary School No. 16 in Altos del Oeste, two new buildings that will house more than 1,100 students. Both projects, reactivated under the “Schools on the Job” program of the General Directorate of Culture and Education of Buenos Aires, are being carried out by the construction company SES SA. These institutions will have a covered area of ??nearly 2,000 m², distributed over two floors with twelve classrooms, a kitchen-dining room, a library, a SUM and administrative offices. ES N° 16 will also include a laboratory and a nursery room for students with minors in their care. Construction progress shows differences between the two schools. At the Parque Joly primary school, the columns on the upper floor have already been concreted and the slab is finished, while at Altos del Oeste these works are still in progress. At both schools, the ground floor masonry and the interior and exterior plastering have been completed, allowing progress to be made on the carpentry, ceilings and masonry on the upper floor. The completion of the works is scheduled for October of this year. In addition, construction will begin on the Güemes neighborhood Primary School, located at the intersection of El Quijote and José Zuviría, next to Kindergarten No. 929. This project includes twelve classrooms, a library, an art room, a multi-purpose room, a dining room, a kitchen, an administrative area and support areas, with a total covered area of ??1987 m². Its budget is $3,375,834,030.17. With these initiatives, General Rodríguez seeks to strengthen its educational infrastructure and guarantee adequate spaces for the development of the student community.
