This is the Pita Solar photovoltaic project, developed by the German company RWE in the Tarapacá region. An investment of 320 million dollars is estimated. The Pita Solar photovoltaic project, proposed with a total maximum power of approximately 192.4 MWp and a set of energy storage batteries of 184.8 MW for 5 hours duration, to be located in the commune of Pozo Almonte, province of Tamarugal, region of Tarapacá, has been submitted to the Chilean Environmental Impact Assessment Service (SEIA). According to the documentation presented by the German company RWE, the project involves the installation of 334,617 photovoltaic modules, each with a maximum output of 575 watts, on an area of ??approximately 335.09 hectares. The construction of support infrastructure is also being considered, consisting of a 33 kV to 220 kV step-up substation, called the “Pita Solar Substation”, 42 transformation centres, 33 kV underground pipelines, a 220 kV High Voltage Line (hereinafter LAT), with a single circuit, of approximately 13.3 km that connects the Pita Solar step-up substation with the existing Nueva Pozo Almonte substation, belonging to the owner Red Eléctrica del Norte. The estimated start date of construction is July 1, 2026, with entry into operation on July 1, 2028, with a useful life of 35 years. An investment of 320 million dollars is contemplated. |
