Work Detail The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is expediting the completion of the asphalt overlaying project along a portion of the Tagum-Panabo Circumferential Road in Asuncion, Davao del Norte that serves as a vital transportation link, connecting communities and key areas in the region. In his report to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Regional Office 11 Director Juby B. Cordon said that the 268.9-lineal meter section of the circumferential road is undergoing preventive maintenance with 94.8% accomplishment status, anticipated to be completed earlier than its proposed schedule in May 2025. The project is part of the “Build Better More” program under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. focused on improving infrastructure to enhance transportation networks and stimulate economic growth. “As part of our continuous effort in maintaining good road conditions and optimizing road safety, the improvement works of the Tagum-Panabo Circumferential Road is one of the ongoing routine maintenance activities on major roads and highways that aims to enhance connectivity and mobility in the Davao Region,” added Director Cordon. The Tagum-Panabo Circumferential Road, a secondary road connecting the two largest cities in Davao Del Norte, is an essential road infrastructure that helps decongest traffic on major highways, thereby supporting economic growth and development, primarily agri-trading and ecotourism. Implemented by DPWH Davao del Norte District Engineering Office, the asphalt overlaying project amounting to P96.07 Million is funded under the General Appropriations Act of 2024.
