Governor Alfredo Cornejo announced the awarding of five projects in Mendoza for a total of 47 million dollars, financed with the Compensation Fund. This fund was formed with the resources obtained from the industrial promotion trial, originally destined for the construction of the Portezuelo del Viento dam. The decision was made possible thanks to an addendum signed by President Javier Milei to the 2019 agreement between the province and the National State, allowing the 1,023 million dollars to be invested in infrastructure within Mendoza. The works awarded include the improvement of two provincial routes, the expansion of the General Alvear wastewater treatment plant and the construction of a new main sewer in Guaymallén. Cornejo stressed that these initiatives will especially benefit the south of the province, improving road infrastructure, access to water and sanitation. The tenders were awarded as follows: Provincial Route 153, Las Catitas-Ñancuñán section (89 km) – José A. Cartellone Civil Constructions – $14,651,728,046.18.
