Córdoba is moving forward with the re-adaptation of the drainage system at the Misericordia Hospital and Villa El Chaparral The Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services of Córdoba opened the tenders for the drainage refurbishment work at the Misericordia Hospital – Villa El Chaparral , a key intervention to mitigate the floods that affect the urban basin and the hospital grounds. With an official budget of $3.958 million , the work will be carried out jointly by the Province and the Municipality of Córdoba . Project Features The project seeks to improve the storm drainage system in a sector where flows from Avenida Vélez Sarsfield, the Calle Bunge conduit and Avenida Armada Argentina converge , which flow into Arroyo La Cañada . The most critical section extends along 450 meters , between Vélez Sarsfield and the stream , where a high-capacity underground pipeline will be built to evacuate maximum flows. Main works included in the project: Reinforced concrete pipe , with sections measuring 2 metres high by 2 metres wide , reaching a total of 8 m² of hydraulic section . Demolition of existing structures , including 810 m² of vault on the hospital grounds . Construction of inspection and linking chambers to improve system control and maintenance. Adaptation of drains and new crossings under Ayacucho and Belgrano streets to optimize drainage. Bidding companies Five companies submitted proposals to carry out the work: Anka Loo Constructions SRL Corbe SRL Poramba Cooperation Consortium UCONS SRL VDIEG SA Impact of the work The project will improve the hydraulic infrastructure in a 510-hectare basin , bordered by Avenida de Circunvalación, Calle Bunge, Avenida Armada Argentina and Ciudad Universitaria . This intervention will not only benefit the Misericordia Hospital , but also the inhabitants of the area, reducing the risk of flooding and ensuring more efficient drainage .
