Work Detail These are data from the National Energy Commission, which places non-conventional renewable energies with a net installed capacity of 47.5%. According to the data provided by the latest ENRC Monthly Report of the National Energy Commission of Chile, for the month of January, non-conventional renewable energy (ERNC) in the country - which does not include large hydroelectric plants - is responsible for 47.5%) of the total installed capacity at the national level, with the highlight being that photovoltaic energy alone accounts for 30.1%. While Chile has 34,864 MW of total installed capacity, photovoltaics reaches the aforementioned percentage from 10,507 MW in operation. It is important to note that there are also 4,136 MW of this technology under construction, projects that are scheduled to come into operation in April 2027. It should also be added that there are photovoltaic projects with approved environmental qualification resolution totaling 42,750 MW and others in qualification for 9,595 MW. Overall, ERNC completes 47.5% with the sum of 4,713 MW of wind, 642 MW of mini-hydro, 521 MW of biomass, 108 MW of solar thermal and 84 MW of geothermal. The report states that the injection of renewable energy plants from the National Electric System (SEN) into the matrix during December 2024 was 3,451 GWh, which corresponds to 47.0% of total generation.
