Work Detail According to sector data published by the Energy Regulatory Commission, a total of 1,086.22 MW were installed last year, from 106,934 interconnection contracts signed. There is a massive presence of photovoltaic energy, with more than 99%. The Energy Regulatory Commission has published data on small and medium-scale and distributed generation for 2024, which highlights that a total of 1,086.22 MW were installed in that period, from 106,934 interconnection contracts signed. Taking into account that 2023 ended with 3,361.69 MW installed in this modality, it can be seen that the increase during the year has meant 35.3%. Regarding signed contracts, the 106,934 new interconnection contracts bring the total to 518,019, which in turn represent an increase of 26% compared to the total at the end of 2023 (411,085 contracts). Other relevant data show that they are leading in the segments with a capacity of 0 to 5 kW and 5 to 10 kW. In terms of installed capacity, there are 1,072.57 MW of between 5-10 kW and 924.41 MW of 0-5 kW. In this section, the range of 250 to 500 kW stands out, with a capacity of 898.80 MW. As for contracts, the order of preeminence is reversed with respect to the previous item, although with a massive presence in the sum of both: 312,318 contracts between 0 and 5 kW and 153,885 between 5 and 10 kW. Distribution of installed capacity by states Jalisco leads with 90,876 contracts and 658.04 MW; followed by Nuevo León with 59,779 contracts and 468.77 MW; Chihuahua with 42,244 contracts and 317.74 MW; Guanajuato with 27,434 contracts and 290.06 MW; and the State of Mexico with 16,428 contracts and 230.20 MW. Classification by compensation regime and technology Finally, in this section the massiveness of photovoltaics is evident, with 4,421.65 MW installed, that is, 99.409%, from 517,715 contracts, each with $1.8 MDD/MW. If it is by capacity, solar is followed by biogas, with 20.89 MW (0.470%), 99 contracts at $5.1 MDD/MW. The case of the compensation regime is different, where fossil fuels stand out for their price. Thus, diesel/fuel oil has 0.072 MW installed (0.0016%), with 13 contracts at $1.2 million/MW, followed by gas, 0.077 MW (0.0017%) and 9 contracts at $1.33 million/MW, and cogeneration, with 1.36 MW (0.0306%), and 8 contracts at $1.7 million/MW.
