The Governor of Mendoza, Alfredo Cornejo , announced the awarding of five strategic projects that will be financed with part of the Compensation Fund , a total of US$1,023 million granted by the Nation in compensation for the damages caused by the Industrial Promotion. In this first stage, the investment reaches US$47 million and will mainly benefit the southern region of the province with road and sanitation projects . The works awarded are the first of a package of almost 20 projects planned with these funds, and contracts will be signed in the coming days to begin the work. The Mendoza government stressed that this investment will strengthen production, trade and the quality of life of the inhabitants , particularly in the south of the province.
