Arriving in Bhagalpur by chopper at the local airstrip, Nitish was warmly received by district magistrate Nawal Kishor Choudhary and JD(U) MP Ajay Kumar Mandal, among others. Accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, he embarked on a series of project inaugurations and foundation stone-laying ceremonies. At Bihar Agricultural University in Sabour, the CM laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art Agriculture Biotechnology building valued at Rs 72 crore and inaugurated two laboratories built at a cost of Rs 29 crore. Later, at Bahadurpur High School in Barari panchayat, he inaugurated new sports facilities—including basketball, badminton, and volleyball courts, as well as a running track—and proposed key infrastructure projects such as an interstate bus stand on Jicho-Goradih road, a railway overbridge at Ishakchak, an integrated command and control centre, and a Samiksha Bhawan to monitor ongoing development. He also mentioned plans for a new block-cum-circle building and residential quarters in several blocks including Pirpainty, Bihpur, Sahkund, Kahalgaon, Sabour, Naugachia, and Sanhoula. Highlighting Bhagalpur’s urgent need for improved air connectivity, the Chief Minister announced that the state government would request the Centre to launch small-capacity aeroplane services under the UDAN scheme. “Many developmental works have been completed, but much more needs to be done for the Bhagalpur region,” Nitish Kumar said, emphasizing his commitment to the area’s long-term growth and enhanced connectivity. |
