Sarwjit Sambhi takes over from Kevin Devlin with immediate effect London-based Renewable Power Capital (RPC) has appointed Sarwjit Sambhi as CEO, who takes over from Kevin Devlin. Sambhi (pictured) brings over 25 years of experience in the energy sector, including a number of executive roles across the entire energy value chain, at Centrica. When at Centrica, he held a key role in the growth of the renewable energy portfolio operating in markets relevant for RPC including the UK and the Nordics. For the last four years, Sambhi was CEO for St Modwen, a Blackstone real estate portfolio company. Sambhi said: “I am delighted to join Renewable Power Capital at such an exciting time for the sector. “I look forward to working with the talented team at RPC and partnering with our investor, CPP Investments, to create one of Europe’s leading renewable energy platforms.” Devlin leaves RPC having guided the business through a transformation from investor to owner-operator and a significant period of both growth and consolidation. “Over the past couple of years, Kevin has spearheaded the team to deliver our biggest renewables deals to date,” said RPC chair Shaun Kingsbury. “I am incredibly grateful for his leadership during such a transformative period for RPC. “Looking ahead, I am delighted to welcome Sarwjit in his new role as CEO and for the vision and direction he will bring to RPC as it enters a new stage of growth.” Devlin said: “It’s been a privilege to serve as RPC’S CEO during such an important period for the organisation and the renewables sector more broadly. “I am grateful for the opportunity to lead RPC through a pivotal step change from investor to owner-operator and to oversee the financing and development of projects that will power homes and businesses across Europe while supporting the important transition to clean, affordable energy.” Sambhi takes over from Devlin with immediate effect. |
