Vesper Energy is excited to share that the Hornet Solar project has completed the installation of its last solar panel, bringing the total to over 1.36 million. This is a major achievement for Vesper Energy’s flagship renewable energy project, which covers more than six square miles in Swisher County, Texas. When fully up and running, the Hornet Solar project will generate 600 MWac of clean energy, enough to power 160,000 homes every year. Juan Suarez, Co-CEO at Vesper Energy, stated “The seamless coordination between our team and our EPC partner, Blattner, has enabled us to remain ahead of schedule and on budget while ensuring quality throughout the process. Most notably, the team accomplished this task with zero recordable injuries, underscoring a commitment to safety and excellence.” The Hornet Solar project uses bifacial solar panels installed on a tracking system that moves to follow the sun. It’s connected to Oncor Electric’s transmission network within the ERCOT grid. The project is set to supply power to four different partners through separate Virtual Power Purchase Agreements (VPPAs). The project is expected to be fully operational by spring 2025. |
