PNN 89139
Work Detail The first batches of high-voltage (HV) 220 kV and extra-high-voltage (EHV) 400 kV onshore cables have been delivered for the Baltyk 2 and Baltyk 3 offshore wind farms, which are being jointly developed by Equinor and Polenergia. Poland’s Tele-Fonika Kable (TFK) delivered the first 24 drums, with a total weight of 310 tonnes, to Equinor and Polenergia. This marks the start of a larger delivery, totalling over 120 kilometres of cables (198 drums). The company is responsible for the design, production, and delivery of the cables, which will be manufactured in the Bydgoszcz plant. The installation will be handled by the Polish firm Enprom, which will build cable lines on the land section for both Baltyk 2 and Baltyk 3. Enprom will be the main contractor for four 220 kV cable tracks with a length of approximately seven kilometres and two 400 kV tracks leading to the PSE station located over six kilometres away. The Baltyk 2 and Baltyk 3 offshore wind farms received all the required construction permits in August 2024. The two projects will have a total capacity of 1,440 MW and be able to supply over two million households with renewable energy, according to the developers. The wind farms are set to be built in the Polish sector of the Baltic Sea, approximately 37 and 22 kilometres from the coastline near Ustka and Leba.
