Work Detail The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently completed the construction of an access road in Barangay Binongaan, San Agustin, Romblon, that now serves as an efficient roadway to support the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.’s program of enhancing agri-trading and improving the livelihood activities of farmers in the community. In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, Regional Office IV-B Director Gerald A. Pacanan said that since the completion of the project in Barangay Binongaan, farmers have seen significant improvement in the prompt delivery of their local products to the market centers of the adjacent communities and neighboring towns. “The newly-paved road aims to provide an all-weather access, alleviating the recurring threat of road hazards that has been affecting the daily activities of residents and farmers, especially during the rainy season,” added Director Pacanan. Traversing from Barangay Binongaan to Barangay Doña Juana, the 1.69-kilometer access road includes the installation of grouted riprap, metal guardrails, and stone masonry with reinforced pipe culvert, ensuring the resiliency of the roadway against all weather conditions. Implemented by the DPWH Romblon District Engineering Office, the road project was completed for P96.49 million under the 2024 DPWH Infrastructure Program.
