Work Detail A US$905 million loan for a Philippines road project. A loan worth US$905.26 million will help the construction of the Laguna Lakeshore Road Network (LLRN) Project in the Philippines. The loan is being provided via the Export-Import Bank of Korea (KEXIM) from the South Korean Government. Phase 1, Stage 1 of the project is for an 8km stretch of road, with nearly 7km of this on a viaduct and the remainder on a raised embankment. The section will include three interchanges and nearly 2km of on and off ramps. Construction of the project will commence in 2025 and is due for completion in 2029. Building this road will help reduce the chronic traffic congestion in the Laguna Lake area, including a section of the South Luzon Expressway. The work is being managed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). This forms part of the administration’s Build Better More programme. Building this road stretch is expected to deliver an economic boost to the Calabarzon Region as well as the wider economy. The new route will be designed to be climate resilient, with two lanes in either direction for much of the length but three lanes in either direction for a 12km section expected to carry the most traffic. The new expressway will feature nine interchanges located at Binangonan, Morong, Tanay, Pililla North, Pililla South, Jala-Jala, Santa Cruz, Victoria/Calauan, and Los Baños.
