In 2024, the National Government transferred the execution and financing of 278 public works to provinces and municipalities, with a total investment of $63,561 million. Corrientes was ranked as the fourth province with the highest investment, receiving 26 projects worth $4,489 million. The works include interventions in urban, educational, road and water infrastructure, and represent an effort to decentralize the administration and strengthen the Among the projects assigned to Corrientes, 14 correspond to water works financed by the dissolved ENOHSA, including sewers, drinking water supply systems, water treatment plants and aqueducts. These works are essential to solve historical problems related to access to drinking water and sanitation, contributing to improving the quality of life of the benefited communities. With these interventions, Corrientes leads in the number of water projects along with other provinces such as Córdoba and At the national level, 51% of the transferred works are concentrated in Neuquén, Misiones, Corrientes, Salta and Catamarca, which received the highest amounts of investment. Neuquén heads the list with 42 projects for $14.554 million, followed by Misiones and Corrientes. The distribution criteria prioritized regions with critical infrastructure needs and provincial governments willing to continue the works with their own financing. The transfer included the dissolution of ENOHSA, whose functions are now centralized in the Undersecretariat of Water Resources. This measure seeks to optimize resource management and speed up the execution of hydraulic works throughout the country. The decision made it possible to consolidate the planning and supervision of key projects, such as those of drinking water and sanitation, especially in provinces with high demand for this type of infrastructure. |
