The tendering process for the first stage of the remodeling of the Río Grande Regional Hospital in Tierra del Fuego was opened. The works will include the modernization of key areas such as the maternity ward, clinical ward and surgical ward sectors, with the aim of improving the quality of service and optimizing the hospitals operational capacity. In addition, work will be carried out to enhance the façades and internal courtyards, seeking both functionality and beautification of the space. The project also includes the expansion of bed and room capacity, which will be essential to cope with the high occupancy that the hospital registers in all its areas. This improvement will directly benefit patients and their families, providing more comfortable and modern spaces for medical care. In addition, more than 27 internal courtyards of the hospital will be improved, which will be conditioned for the use of patients and their families, promoting a more pleasant and accessible environment. The remodeling is a response to the growing demands of the public health system, which has experienced an increase in the number of users due to migration from the private system for economic reasons. In this context, the authorities emphasized that this work is a commitment to public health and a sign of confidence in the systems ability to continue growing and modernizing. In March, the tender for the remodelling of other key areas of the hospital, such as the laundry room, kitchen and sterilisation section, is expected to continue, followed by the modernisation of the operating theatres. These stages are part of the hospitals master plan, designed to guarantee a comprehensive and high-quality health service for the community. With this project, the Río Grande Regional Hospital is moving towards a more modern and efficient infrastructure, aimed at meeting the current and future needs of the population. The bidding process represents a fundamental step to consolidate these improvements and strengthen the confidence of users in the public health system.
