The province and the municipality of Córdoba have joined forces to carry out a major infrastructure project that will solve flooding problems at the Misericordia Hospital and the Villa El Chaparral area. This is a large-scale project that involves the redesign of the existing drainage system, with the aim of improving the water evacuation capacity and preventing flooding, especially during periods of heavy rainfall. Details of the work: Scope: The work will focus on a 450-metre stretch between Avenida Vélez Sarsfield and Arroyo La Cañada, where new high-capacity reinforced concrete pipelines will be built. Benefits: This work will protect the Misericordia Hospital from flooding, guarantee the continuity of its services and improve the quality of life of the residents of the area. Investment: The project has a budget of more than 3.9 billion pesos, which demonstrates the importance given to this work. Tendering process: Five bids were submitted to carry out the works, indicating great interest on the part of construction companies. The work involves: The construction of a high-capacity piped conduit to evacuate maximum flows underground. Demolition of existing structures and excavation of land. Construction of inspection and linking chambers. The adaptation of drains and crossings under streets. In short, this work is essential to improve the water infrastructure of the area and guarantee the protection of the Misericordia Hospital and the residents of Villa El Chaparral against extreme weather events.
